I was recently motivated by a friend to really get back into reading my bible on a more daily basis. I have been a slacker for quite some time and I have also become the master of excuses (with good reason) so I knew it was time to get back to business. I decided that one of the best ways to make the time is to incorporate my children with whatever I decide to read. I thought that I would revisit some parables and stories that I am familiar with and then share it with them. In order to keep their attention I asked them to draw a picture of what I was talking about with them. I was hoping that by doing this they might pay better attention to what I was saying. The first day it worked and the second not as well with Lillian who did her own thing. We have missed some days because I was sick but I am hoping to get back on track this week. Here are some of the drawings that the girls made.

Sophia decided to draw one of her favorite bible stories. (Adam and Eve) This was something she did on her own.

This is from the parable of the city on a hill. I like the the people have the option to climb a ladder into the city or just take the road.

Lillian's view point of the story.

Sophia's drawing of story of fruitful trees. There is a good tree which has delicious fruit and a bad tree which will be cut down and burned.

Lillian didn't seem as interested in the tree story. She drew a bean bag and the puller? My favorite was the strainer which in her words "is hot." She is referencing our spaghetti stainer that she often wants to touch and I warn her that it is hot.
Blessings to you today-
Carrie
I LOVE these! What precious memories to have for them to look back on when they are older.
